All abilities and ages are welcome to stay at Serpentine Cabin on Trevassack Lake, where a watersports centre awaits with trained staff skilled in helping beginners and those with special needs. The well-appointed accommodation sleeps up to five people plus their four-legged friend for the holiday in Cornwall you’ve all been waiting for.

Walkthrough

Step onto your deck (noting the hot tub out of the corner of your eye for later) and breathe in that fresh Cornish air – you’ve arrived and are ready for that first cuppa from the fully-equipped kitchen.

Through the double doors into the spacious container-style cabin, you’ll feel the warmth of Eco Air-Con unit (that can switch to cool for summer days!) plus some underfloor heating that will make the dog happy! Set back to your left is a sumptuous king-size bed next to floor to ceiling windows so you can have a lie in with your coffee and enjoy the natural world waking up outside.

Ahead of you is the wet-room with extra wide doorway and opening up to your right is the quirky living-area with modern kitchen, a dining-table to seat all five and a comfy sofas arranged in front of the double width sliding doors out on to your deck (where that lovely hot tub is). At the far end of the cabin, a private bedroom features a double bed with single bunk-bed above and sliding doors out to that hot tub.

The whole holiday home is presented beautifully in a quirky scandi style.

Setting

Serpentine Cabin is tucked back up the hill from the foreshore, away from the hubbub below. The fenced garden allows children and dogs to explore all around the holiday home with ease – a nearby drop off zone allows easy arrival of luggage and guests (with one car parking space nearby, all other vehicles stay in the main car park please) and you’re only a short slope away from all the action although there is also an open-air lift if you prefer (great for tired little legs or the less mobile).

Your self-catering stay will be quite delightful with feasts enjoyed outside, admiring the local landscape, on by the water making the most of the lakeside bistro-style cafe. We’re sure most of your day will be spent down by (or on) the water – from as early as 6am if you wish, with the wild swimming crew jumping in throughout the summer and winter (from 8am), where you can make the most of the abundant facilities and create long-lasting memories with the comfort of Serpentine Cabin to return to if there’s a queue at the café, or you just want a bit of quiet time. This dog-friendly holiday home has everything you need for a fun-filled family adventure in Cornwall.

History

This holiday cabin is named after a well-known mineral found on The Lizard peninsula and was even quarried here at Trevassack Lake. Go into any local souvenir shop around here and you’ll likely find a trinket, sculpture or jewellery made of the stone. It’s quite beautiful, the variegated green colouring and smooth or scaly appearance giving it the Latin name of Serpentinus or ‘serpent rock’. There are up to 20 varieties that belong to the serpentine grouping, one of the most important funnily enough being called Lizardite. But each and every sample of serpentinite rock is unique, just like our lovely Serpentine Cabin.
