Trevassack Lake Wedding Venue

Weddings at Trevassack Lake

Welcome to our beautiful boutique setting for an intimate wedding day set around a 10-acre freshwater lake.

We’re a small but perfectly formed venue, with a unique and instagram-worthy backdrop, fully accessible site, lakeside cafe and even accommodation if you wanted to takeover our whole site for your special day.

We’re a blank (but beautiful) canvas for you to fill with your chosen decor and entertainment, find your favourite registrar and of course, up to 60 of your nearest and dearest to celebrate your marriage – we can help with suggestions of local wedding planners but you are free to design your day and host it here for a relaxed wedding experience.

Location

Just ten minutes outside of Helston, on the Lizard peninsula, we are easy to get to but wonderfully rural. Our 26 acre former serpentine quarry site is tucked away and filled with flora and fauna that call the 10 acre freshwater lake their home. The sun rises behind the accommodation, high over the lake at midday and setting behind the half-hidden wind turbines, giving glorious sunset-behind-the-lake photo opportunities.

Facilities

There is a public car park by the access road, 6 luxury self-catering properties (3 fully accessible, 3 dog-friendly and all with their own hot tubs), a watersports centre (you can wear a wedding dress on a paddleboard, right?), lakeside cafe and dual-aspect, waterfront function room in the Learning Centre.

Our function room can accommodate 48 sitting down and 60 standing although that number could be fewer depending on accessibility requirements. There are plenty of changing facilities and WCs including two official Changing Places facilities that meet accessibility criteria.

Accessibility

Trevassack has been developed to be as inclusive as possible and so all areas are fully wheelchair accessible. The paths are all smooth from the car park to every facility, with no steps anywhere, even in and out of any of the buildings. There is a sizeable slope up to some of the accommodation that may be challenging for manual wheelchairs, but we’ve installed an outside lift to overcome that. People of limited mobility can enjoy everything here, including getting out on the water with our special adaptive craft, so no one has to miss out on that sunset SUP shot.

Catering

We have an on-site cafe run by Cornish Food Hub who not only keep us supplied with coffees, cake, brunch and delectable lunch, but also provide private dining options and event catering. The kitchen is right next to the function room, with a connecting hatch for convenience and the wraparound deck offering al fresco options over the water.

Stay

You can book just the day package for your ceremony and/or party, or you can choose from one or several of our purpose-built holiday properties (subject to availability). Spend the night before your wedding soaking in your private hot tub under the stars, sleeping soundly in our supremely comfy beds and gliding down the slope in your wedding dress to the shores of our sparkling lake.

Enjoy your dream day with the legal marriage ceremony, wedding meal and celebrations all together in this idyllic wedding venue.

Please get in touch to discuss suitable dates and requirements and we’ll do our best to find something to suit. We’d be happy for you to drop by for a visit or we can offer video call tours if you’re too far away. Either way, please have a chat with Deborah to find out more.
